ACQUISITION NOTE

Gift of Harold Boulton to the Keats-Shelley Memorial Association (KSMA).

PROVENANCE

The Keats-Shelley House came to possess this small treasure thanks to Sir Harold Boulton (1849 –, 1935), Honorary Secretary of the Keats-Shelley Memorial Association between 1906 and 1926: while travelling around the Fiji Islands he had received it as a present for his fifty-first birthday by Mr A. S. Goold of Edinburgh.

NOTE

This is Goethe’s own English translation of item numbered 9.1 preceded by a dedication, all in his own handwriting.
