Lord Byron in Italy

Friday, September 27, 2024 - 18:00 to 20:00

The Keats-Shelley House is delighted to invite you to a special evening celebrating Roberto Einaudi’s exhibition, Lord Byron in Italy, on Friday 27th September at 6 p.m.

On the occasion of the bicentenary of Byron's death Architect Roberto Einaudi has created a series of single line drawings inspired by the two major works that the poet composed in Italy: Canto IV of Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage and Don Juan, as well as the journal Byron kept while living in Ravenna, where he described his efforts to help the revolutionaries who were planning to liberate Italy from foreign domination. Re-reading or reading Byron’s works for the first time, Einaudi began to take notes: not written, but drawings made with a single fast line, which try to convey the immediate emotions evoked by the reading.

The event will be followed by a prosecco reception with the artist.

Admission is Free but booking is required: please write to info@keats-shelley-house.org. Entry from 5:45 p.m. onwards.
